What will you be doing?

As a Junior Accountant, you will have the opportunity to work on an extensive range of tasks for many different types of clients, from SMEs to multinationals. You are responsible for maintaining and analysing clients’ financial statements, for example preparing for closing, creating external annual financial statements and working on financial reports. You assist them with their accounts and prepare their VAT registrations. Your duties also include filing their corporate and personal income tax returns. You help clients deal with current concerns such as the UBO register and additional accounting tasks such as completing forms and estimating advance payments. You are meticulous in your work, while also being carefully guided by more experienced people.

What do you bring to the table?

  • You insist on accuracy and love diving into all the details.
  • You are happy to take the initiative and present new ideas, but also receptive to your colleagues’ point of view. You make sure to keep them informed; team spirit is the way to go for you.
  • Juggling multiple deadlines during busy VAT return periods or dealing with several different files on the same day? You mastered the required flexibility long ago.
  • Stress? What’s that? You are good at setting priorities and delivering work on time is not a problem for you.
  • You always stay up to date on the latest accounting developments. You enjoy learning new things and attending seminars, conferences and events.
  • You have a Master’s degree or already have previous (internship) experience.
  • You write and speak Dutch fluently and also have some proficiency in French and English.

What do we bring to the table?

  • Start in a general position and discover which types of clients, duties or specialisations suit you best. After the starters days, you will build your own career along with your other new colleagues.
  • Take on increasing amounts of responsibility as the rest of your team stands by, ready to support you.
  • BDO Academy’s extensive list of training courses helps you grow both personally and professionally.
  • Sample projects from other Business Practices through our “flex pool”.
  • Options to work from home or from the nearest office, for example, and flexible working hours.
  • A competitive salary package with many attractive benefits such as a net expense allowance, company car, mobile phone plan, hospitalisation insurance, etc.
  • Work at a company with an integrated sustainability policy on issues such as climate impact and equality, diversity and inclusion, which actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
