What will you be doing?

Our tax consultancy department in Zaventem (Brussels Airport) has a very diverse domestic and international client base, with varied and interesting clients. BDO Belgium’s multidisciplinary team of over 100 tax consultants – generalists and experts – are active in various specific tax disciplines.

Your duties include a combination of advising on and implementing company structures and the associated compliance tasks, with a strong focus on larger and internationally active companies. You will work in multidisciplinary teams together with specialists in areas such as indirect taxes, transfer pricing, human capital, etc., both in Belgium and within our broad international network.

 

Your main duties:

  • Advising Belgian and foreign groups on Belgian or cross-border transactions;
  • Coordinating and supervising corporate tax compliance activities, both domestic and cross-border;
  • Coordinating and supervising due diligence and post-acquisition services (domestic/cross-border) in collaboration with our Corporate Finance and M&A departments;
  • Collaborating closely with other tax specialists (both in Belgium and as part of BDO’s worldwide network) and colleagues from other business lines;
  • Developing and expanding relationships with existing and potential clients.

 

What do you bring to the table?

  • Diploma of Higher Education, preferably a Master of Law or Economics with additional tax training;
  • At least five years of relevant experience with domestic or international corporate tax at a large organisation, including both (complex) advisory and compliance activities. Ability to make connections to other types of taxation such as VAT or personal income tax;
  • Certified Tax Adviser status is a main asset;
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken French and English; knowledge of Dutch is an asset;
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken;
  • Strong, dynamic personality, with a drive and commitment to help expand our location over the long term;
  • Commercial awareness, quality-oriented;
  • Proactive, enjoy taking initiative and responsibility;
  • Team player with leadership skills.
