What will you be doing?

As part of BDO’s advisory department, the Strategy & Transformation's Team pursues the mission of helping our clients in various sectors to work more (cost-)efficient, customer-focused, people-centric and results-driven. We guide and support our clients to succeed in their journey from strategy definition to implementation and to seek for continuous improvement through multidisciplinary skills, adapted approaches and professional tools.


As Manager FS – Customer, you will be part of the FS – Customer team with a specific focus on the commercial part of Financial Services sector including banks, insurance companies, payment institutions, etc. and support our clients with their transformation projects. This may involve different objectives: increasing revenues, reducing costs, improving customer satisfaction, digital transformation or complying with regulation.

What will you be doing?

  • Advise clients on complex (transformation) challenges based on all your expertise gained in specific business domains of which products (accounts, cards, payments, lending, investments, (non)-life insurances, etc.) , channels (physical, remote or digital) and/or client segments (retail, corporate, private banking);
  • Lead (business) transformation projects from set-up to delivery, to achieve customer impact by overseeing project status, managing risks & impediments, lessons learned, reviewing budget plans, etc.;
  • Engage actively in business development to help us grow our client by preparing proposals, presenting service offerings, initiating client discussions and taking account management responsibilities;
  • Recruit & coach (junior) people on (multiple) engagement at different clients and assess their performance;
  • Contribute to the practice’s strategic priorities, identify market trends, tailor and develop the practice’s value proposition, define go-to-market campaigns;
  • Encourage cross competences initiatives and foster knowledge sharing;
  • Participate in the practice’s day-to-day steering, support partners on different strategic initiatives and represent BDO at important marketing events or seminars;
  • Leverage on BDO’s network & collaborate closely with colleagues from various Business Practices to create a real impact for our clients.

What do you bring to the table?

This job is definitely for you if you ...

  • have a track record of 5+ years in a management consulting firm (business transformation, digital transformation, advisory, etc.) and/or relevant expertise the FS industry (bank, insurance or payment institution). Solid experience in transformation, product management, sales & marketing, supporting functions and/or channels is a strong asset;
  • can engage with various stakeholders, including (c-level) clients, international BDO member firms and colleagues across the different business practices, to build relationships and manage expectations;
  • able to conceptualise strategies and also take the lead in the operational implementation of projects. You enjoy identifying and solving complex business-related challenges;
  • want to take initiative and propose new ideas while listening carefully to your colleagues’ points of view;
  • have a strong adaptability and willingness to learn. You are up to date with the latest evolving business related trends in financial services;
  • have excellent listening & communication skills, excellent writing and presentation skills and strong in delivering impressive presentations;
  • are looking for fast-paced missions in different domains in Financial Services in Brussels, and to a lesser extent in Flanders or Wallonia and are flexible and able to travel internationally from time to time;
  • are results-oriented, comfortable with numbers and aware of the added value of working in and reinforcing a team to achieve maximum results;
  • enjoy working in change working environment and have proven project & sector experience;
  • can work under pressure, multitask between client delivery, content development, people management & business development and meeting tight deadlines;
  • want to be part of a team with strong growth potential.

You communicate perfectly in Dutch or French and have a very good knowledge of the other language and you are fluent in English.
You also have a master's degree in Business Engineering, Economics, Management or a similar domain.
